Sight Life Census Champions

Sight Life was delighted to be awarded a certificate as a Census Champion for its work with Sharon Jones, the Census Engagement Manager for Swansea. Sharon spoke to each of the Swansea groups to explain to them what the census was about, how they could interact with it, the formats they could use to do this, and how to request support so that they could take part in the census equally and fairly. Members were able to ask questions and express their concerns in doing the census.

The feedback from members was that following this engagement with the process, by having support from the support line and by requesting the formats they wanted, they felt they were able to fully participate in the census process. The only format that was not provided was braille. This omission has been reported back to Sharon who is taking this up with relevant colleagues.
