There will be a focus group via Zoom with blind and visually impaired people on June 28th, 2021 between 14.00pm -16.00pm to gather information on how well the implementation of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) 14 Act is going. Tafsila Khan (RNIB Volunteer Campaign Lead) is supporting with this workshop and helping to facilitate the session.  If you would like any further information please let Kirsty James (RNIB Campaigns Officer (Wales) know and she can put you in touch with Tafsila. Welsh Government want to know how well the implementation of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) 14 Act is going. The Act is all about providing support to people who need it in ways that are person centred and helpful. One specific area of interest is co-production. This means people supported by services and the people in organisations that provide the support working together as equals in any of the following things:

  • Developing individual care and support or safeguarding plans
  • Designing and developing services
  • Participating in the running of services
  • Evaluating services
  • Developing policies and strategies

A small team of researchers would like to talk with people supported by services about their experiences of co-production. They would very much like to talk with you if you have experience of any of the above.

They are working with a range of different organisations to plan and run a series of two hour online Zoom meetings, each with a particular focus. The workshop with people who are blind or visually impaired will be run on 28th June: 14.00 – 16.00.

If you would like to join in, please e-mail: Nick Andrews – [email protected]
