Active Travel in Wales

19 January 2021

All local authorities in Wales must resubmit their Active Travel Network Maps to Welsh Government by 31st December 2021. The Wales Vision Forum represents local, regional and national sight loss organisations in Wales. Its members are working together to collate a response to this consultation to ensure travel routes are safe and accessible for people with sight loss. Wales Council of the Blind is asking people with sight loss across Wales to contribute to the plans by completing a survey. If you would like to help, please see the links below:

Sight Life’s staff have returned to work after the Festive period. Our telephone support services are available and we look forward to once again being of service to you.

Our telephone groups also start again today.

Roath Park Primary School Virtual VI Awareness Session

22 December 2020

Sight Life provided a virtual VI awareness session for the children in Roath Park Primary School which included audio recordings of living with sight loss in normal times and the effects of lockdown.

The children had fun listening to them and learning all about life with a vision impairment and in return recorded some of their Christmas pieces to bring us all some much needed Christmas cheer.

Free tablet scheme launches for Cardiff residents on a low income

Could someone you know benefit from a free tablet to help get them online? Cardiff Council have a limited number devices available for distribution. They need to be in receipt of benefits or on a low income, want to access training or to look for work online, not currently have access to a digital device or broadband at home, or be suffering from isolation to be eligible.
