Cardiff Council Westgate Street/Wood Street crossings improvement works

4 September 2015

Please be aware of the following continued critically important access improvements to Westgate Street crossing facilities

In addition to the recently upgraded crossing facilities that now include tactile tumblers / cones at all controlled crossings along Westgate Street.

Works will also now commence on physical improvements with the replacement of all tactile pavers / surfaces on all controlled crossing points.

As such from the 7th September (lasting approximately 2 weeks Max) Street road works teams we will be on site from approx 8am-3.30pm working along the street until crossings works are completed.

As such all works will have safety barriers in place; and whilst this will slightly reduce the effective usable width of each crossing, crossings will however remain open and safe for the public.

Furthermore, all road works teams have been briefed and will be on hand to help anyone with difficulty in using the crossings during this time; in particular those from the Visually Impaired community in the negotiating of the works barriers / routes.
