Fundraising
Our staff and volunteers are dedicated to providing a wide range of services and support for blind and partially sighted people. To do that, we need the help of people like you who can help us to fundraise.
What would I be asked to do?
You might be asked to help to organise an event such as a coffee morning, a quiz night, a jumble sale or a pool, darts or skittles competition. You might help with admin support in the office, or be part of a “Think Tank” to conjure up new ideas of raising funds.
What if I can only spare a few hours?
Any amount of time you can give is invaluable.
Do I need any qualifications?
No – you don’t need any specific skills, qualifications or experience. However, it would be useful for us to know where your interests lie and about any previous experience you may have had.
Will it cost me anything?
No – it doesn’t cost anything to become a volunteer. We will normally reimburse agreed travel costs and expenses.
What support will I get?
We will ensure that you become familiar with the organisation and understand the tasks you will be asked to carry out. You will have a supervisor who will support you. You will also have opportunities to talk over any issues, problems, ideas or suggestions you may want to discuss.
