Macular Degeneration Support Group
Sight Life’s Macular Degeneration Support Group meets on the first Monday of the month. Meetings take place in the Activity Room at Jones Court, Womanby Street, Cardiff between 10.30am and 12.30pm. It’s a support group for people living with this condition. The group sometimes welcomes guest speakers and trips out for lunch are also arranged. It’s the opportunity for people with Macular Degeneration to get together to swap tips and stories and generally support one another. You’re guaranteed a warm welcome, a listening ear, a cuppa and a chat (there are usually biscuits too!).
“I came to the Macular meeting and I could not believe how many people were there. I was nervous but Michelle introduced me to a table of ladies who were all lovely and so welcoming. It was lovely to hear their stories; some were very similar to mine. It made me feel like I wasn’t the only one going through this. The meeting was very interesting. We heard all about how Alexa can help you. I can’t wait for the next meeting.”
” I have been with Sight Life for 12 years now, I have macular and cataracts and the staff have been a tremendously great help to me over the years; its just so nice to go somewhere where you consistently have such a good welcome! I come to macular and Yoga classes, they are both really social activities too, I count them as my leisure activities. The yoga class makes me feel so much more relaxed and healthy – I had a heart attack six months ago and I’m convinced it has really helped with my recovery!”
