I began working for Sightlife in 2002, when it was known as Cardiff Institute for the Blind (CIB). My involvement with the organisation started after my husband, Spiro, lost his sight in a car accident in 1981. 10 years later, he went on to become a computer trainer for CIB.
I was inspired to volunteer with the charity after witnessing the invaluable support that Sight Life provided my husband, which enabled him to regain his independence. When a job opportunity then arose, I didn’t hesitate to apply. In my current role, I am dedicated to offering the same support and encouragement that empowered my husband, helping others reclaim their independence and enjoy a fulfilling life.
My parents were Greek, and I enjoy cooking traditional Greek dishes for my family and friends. I have seven grandchildren and love the lively, joyful chaos that comes with spending time with them.
