I want to volunteer

Sight Life is privileged to have over 140 volunteers, many of whom are blind or partially sighted themselves which gives them a unique insight in to what it’s like to live with sight loss. Volunteers play a vital and much valued role in all of the work that we do. The time freely given up by our volunteers is what allows us to make a huge difference to peoples’ lives.

Quite simply, without our wonderful volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do. Reach those people most in need of help and reassurance would be very difficult. We wouldn’t be able to provide people with sight loss with the hope and independence that we seek to give them. We wouldn’t be able to change lives.

Volunteers help us run a wide range of important services like our social clubs and activity groups. Some of our volunteers carry out home visits taking gadgets to help people stay safe at home. Some help us to provide computer training. Click here to meet some of our volunteers and find out why they want to help us. If you’re thinking “I want to volunteer”, thank you. As little as an hour each month could make all the difference to somebody.

If you think that you would like to volunteer and help us in some way, please take a look at our volunteering opportunities, or call us on 029 2039 8900. You’d also be welcome to call into our offices on Womanby Street to talk to us about what you might be able to do to help. If you don’t live in Cardiff, look at the nationwide Volunteering Opportunities Finder on the RNIB website.
